Ike Alterman was born Ozarow, Poland, in 1928.
His experiences included confinement in the Ozarow ghetto, and internment in Auschwitz-Birkenau and Dachau camps. He was liberated near Theresienstadt in May 1945, and came to Windermere in August 1945.
